One Hint: It isn’t the Bible

Zombie Alan Moore

I have yet to come across a book that has really changed my life. I actually don’t know that I would be able to hang out with anyone who had read a book that they claimed “changed their life”.  Maybe if you’re an addict and you read a book about getting sober which inspires you to do the same thing, I’ll give you a pass, but otherwise? In general I would say that books (really, I should say literature, because those crappy self-help books are also considered “books”) aren’t meant to change people’s lives, they’re meant to entertain, or to comment on the human condition; to make you think or see someone else’s point of view. Within the past few years my favorite “book” was The Watchmen, a graphic novel by Alan Moore. It wasn’t life changing by any means, but I loved it: I connected with the characters, was thoroughly engaged in the storyline and it entertained the hell out of me.

Please Stand by for Horrible Dramatic Programming

Anything with the word “drama” connected to the end of it I generally tend to react negatively against, because drama almost always implies that there will be continuously unbelievable and irrational plotlines and character developments throughout the course of the show. Brandon can’t stop doing drugs but he has an amazing, loving family who struggles with understanding why, why he’s doing this? Errrrr, nope: doesn’t make sense. So often the characters in these shows are in no way based in reality and writers don’t take psychology or rationality at all into consideration when they’re writing this garbage. But again, the lemmings love it. That is why I prefer the comedic shows, because even if the characters aren’t based in reality, they’re not trying to be. I prefer shows that have more “real” dialogue and that can actually entertain me.

Mall of Nightmare-ica

Variety of hard pretzels

Image via Wikipedia

First off, I hate malls. It makes me want to vomit when I see all the lemmings milling around spending half of the day in the mall. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve spent many-an-hour in the mall myself, particularly as a teenager: we were the quintessential “mallrats”, but hey it was either that or do a crap-ton of drugs. But once I was old enough to reach the age of reason I became acutely aware of how much I can’t stand being at a mall. So, if I had $500 that I was forced to spend at a mall, I would start by going directly to Auntie Anne’s pretzels and getting a huge lemonade and a nice soft, salty pretzel just to calm my nerves and make me feel more like I was one with the people. But then? I would probably just go to one or two stores and buy a bunch of clothes. What else is there even to buy at the mall? Oh, actually I take that back, I would definitely spring for one of those weird coffin-looking water-massages because they always intrigued me.

Generally, in India, they feed animals like dog and cat. Dogs are usually good, but sometimes, stray dogs are very dangerous and it does not know what it is doing. It will bite the person who feeds it properly. That is, when loses control, it is very dangerous. Maximum possible, do not allow any of your dog to play with other animals. Even if you allow them to play, be watchful as sometimes cats and other animals may eat your dog. You can take it (dogs) to Pets Beauty Saloon, Doggy Saloon.
