The last time

The last time I went on the town was probably about three months ago, maybe a little longer than that. I rarely get to dress up to the nines anymore- but the last time I went out, I went ALL out! My heels were sky high and my makeup (courtesy of my best friend) was top notch. I looked like I was going to a red carpet event instead of the local bar for drinks. I had so much fun and I can’t wait to shake my tail feather at the smallest but highly underrated place Hartford County has to offer again.

As a 27 year old single mother, life can get pretty interesting

I work part time 3 towns over from me which actually makes for a 90 minute commute one way. By the time I get home, my brain is usually swimming because I just can wait to get home to my child. He makes my day so much better. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, but it’s definitely difficult to not see my child except for a few critical moments of the day. I love to sketch, bake, and play video games- but alas, I can not. My heart is heavy because on the one hand, I’d love to be at home with him because he is so young. On the other hand, I’m the head of this household so I have to work so we can eat. I’m going to continue to do my best for him and always put him first, as hard as that may be most times to leave him for the day.

My dog Ben taking a Nap

When my dog Ben takes a nap, he sleeps on his comfortable memory foam dog bed. Buying the bed was a good investment. This bed is so comfortable that Ben naps for two to three hours. Before the bed was purchased, Ben took up all the space next to me in my own bed. I’m so happy Ben loves his bed because I don’t have to worry about sharing my bed with him anymore.

The other night, I planned a Trip to Jamaica dinner

All my family and friends came to witness this spectacle- me cooking dinner (and an ‘event’ dinner at that!). First course was a delicious salad with fresh greens, tomatoes, and avocado with grilled jerk chicken. Next up was the red snapper stuffed with Jamaican pumpkin, rice and peas with coconut milk and pineapple-cassava dip! Finally for dessert, I made a pond cake with Jamaican- style ovenproof rum. Needless to say, this event dinner I’d planned was a success. I’ve been thinking about doing a Trip to Mexico dinner. Better do some research and make this one better than the last.
