In my experience it is taking a toll on a lot of the population. I know and have witnessed a lot of people in my home town lose their jobs and homes because of the recession. I have seen three to four manufacturing companies in our home town close down leaving hundreds and hundreds jobless. Sadly I know a lot of those people who are jobless and their lives are being affected by it; many of them are my parents of my close friends from high school. I have seen many people get laid off and simply can’t return to work because they are not needed. All those people who are jobless in my home town can’t find a job anywhere else. Majority of the jobless population move have their homes have been taken away from them.

My day is going pretty slow. I slept in this morning since one of my classes is cancelled for the day. It is thanksgiving break so it’s logical that all classes should be cancelled. I skipped breakfast this morning since I was running late and I should not have because I know I will be feeling it later, tired. Everything seems to be going pretty slow, even my thinking is going a little slow. Must be that I slept in and must be the slightly rainy weather having an effect on my mood as well. I certainly am looking forward to the rest of my day and I hopes its better than slow.

Humankind’s relationship to man’s best friend has taken on various forms throughout the years. Originally, dogs were meant to be companions and protectors of their people. Now dogs have become accessories, and some are even leading lifestyles that are quite close to being human lifestyles! Dog clothes, shoes, and dog beds amounting to more than four hundred dollars are only some of the ways in which some pampered pooches are living better than humans today. Most of these luxuries expended on a dog are unnecessary. Out of all of the nonsense that can be purchased for your four-legged friend, a sweater to keep warm in winter and an adjustable dog seat belt are things you actually need to keep the dog comfortable and safe. These items are practical and also protect your dog. All other trinkets not only make the dog look ridiculous, but you also look ridiculous for buying them. Give the dog his dignity so you can keep yours.

There’s a lot people can talk about. It’s hard to know where to start. Since families will be getting together this week for the holiday. Let’s talk about family. That’s right, family. Families are so fragile these days especially with the increase anxiety that is be put on them from everyday responsibilities to sudden crisis’ that may occur. My husband was just saying how so many of his coworkers are having problems in their marriages. Then there the single parent household be it the single mother or single father. Times are tough. The pressure of this world is increasing. The promotion of ‘Meism’ has really taken it’s toll. I feel that it is time for people to get back to the basics, as it were. It doesn’t matter is you are a single parent or married. Doing all you can to be there for your family should be important. Maintaining close bonds can be a chore sometimes with different personalities and opinions. But if families remember what is important and keep focused then things will go a lot better for them. Not perfect, mind you, but better.
