Family and the Daily Grind

Last week, I attended classes at college. While most classes usually come easily to me, I had some serious problems understanding the concepts in calculus. Each night, I came home to cook a meal for my boyfriend who is in the US Navy. Getting used to his night shifts was tough for both of us because his sleep pattern is changing drastically from week to week and his absence is making it difficult for me to get adjusted. Last weekend, I visited my hometown and spent time with my grandmother and aunt. I’m always welcome to pay an unannounced visit to my grandmother, and my aunt invited my boyfriend and I to a delicious dinner at her farm property.

An Investment in Art and Happiness

The most expensive thing I’ve ever bought was my violin. It is a $3,000 violin, and I saved my money for two years to make sure I had enough to buy it. It was certainly a good investment; I truly enjoy playing the violin and hope to be involved with a professional orchestra one day. Even if my dreams don’t work out, there is still hope for getting a return out of that investment. When I have children, it is possible that they would need a nice musical instrument at some point in their schooling. As a last resort, I could sell the instrument and get almost as much as I payed.

More than a Redneck Tradition

If I could have any car, I would have a large truck that still got good gas mileage. I love to feel like I’m bigger than the other cars on the road; my current car makes me feel like I could be crush at any moment by a semi-trailer truck. Also, gas mileage is very important to everyone since no one wants to spend more than necessary on transportation. Another good thing about driving a large truck would be the ability to drive anywhere I wanted; while other cars are stuck in traffic, I could take the muddy route through the woods back home.

Better to move out soon

I live in a house. With my mom, dad and brother. Why do I live with them? Because I’m still in high school and it just wouldn’t be clever to live in a own apartment and pay high rents. And I’m not living at home for long anyway. Going to move out in six months, so wish my luck! It’s not like I don’t want to live at home anymore, I like it here really. Here I have anything I need. Well, sometimes I want some more space so I think that’s the only thing I dislike here. But in the other hand, that’s not so crucial either. My room is lovely, my mom is supportive, I have a television (what I wouldn’t have in my own apartment). But someday I must move out and start the real life!
